Posted Breed: Shiba Inu / Shepherd (short coat). Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Hi. My name is Ellis and I am a well behaved boy with lots of love to give. I LOVE to play with other dogs as you can see on my video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNEjJM3btC8I I am currently in a foster home but need to move on to my forever, loving home. My foster says I am super intelligent and very intuitive as well. I’m learning tricks really easily and will work for treats – see my video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbWH9c0ocaw On this next video you will see that I am a loving soul and I’m told I’m quite the looker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dl8sOwJt8nk I am also young, between 3-4 years old (so much has happened, I can’t remember my actual birthday) and I only weigh about 47 lbs so a great size. I don’t like to share my belongings (toys, food, rawhides) so I shouldn’t be left unsupervised with those items around other pets or kids, in fact better no young children for that reason. I am very food motivated and am eager to learn new commands. I’m a very goofy, fun loving guy and would do best with a patient family who is willing to work on my resource guarding. I take treats well but do like to guard my food so just set down my food, let me eat and then I’m a happy camper. I was mistreated by a male so am better with a female, but given the time and loving care, I would come around to a man, because my foster mom has a nice husband whom I love deeply! So this is my wish list: I am looking for a family who will work with me, in a gentle and positive way, to overcome these issues. My foster has been doing this and I am really doing well. I would love a doggy playmate and an active owner too. I would be a great dog park dog! I adore hikes, car rides, sunsets and movie night on the sofa (popcorn is option). I also wish for a big juicy steak every day (Ok, I thought I would sneak that in, but it’s not necessary ) ☺. I promise to be a loving companion, with kindness from you, and I will do my best to be a great student and fast learner. I appreciate your consideration, I won’t disappoint you. I am heartworm negative and neutered. Please contact my foster for details – email; virginaz3@gmail.com or call 770-714-7790 Age: 3-4 years Weight: 43 lbs Temperament: good with dogs, probably not kids or cats. Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines Training: House trained, crate trained This adoptable is not a Doggie Harmony animal, but a courtesy listing on behalf of the volunteer/rescuer trying to save this dog's life. There will be a fee to reimburse for the cost of its vetting/care; it may vary by rescuer/animal. Additionally, you will be asked to complete an Adoption Application (http://bit.ly/DH-Adoption) and allow a home visit to ensure pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle.

He can be shy at first but is slowly gaining confidence. Everyday as he becomes more comfortable in his foster home, he is exploring more and more. He's learning to cuddle with his foster parents and starting to enjoy getting love and attention. Zen is 100% potty trained and crate trained! He will require a very secure fenced yard in his forever home. He hasn't learned leash walking skills yet and needs a fenced yard for potty breaks. He's good with everyone including cats, dogs, and kids but would prefer a quite home without the commotion of a busy family with children. He will need at least one other dog in his forever home to help him learn how to be a "dog" after years of life in a commercial breeder. Zen's perfect home will have a fenced yard, a confident dog and a family who is willing to continue to help him learn that the world is not a scary place. https://www.facebook.com/KennelsToCouchesMN Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. I am a sweet Shiba Inu that's about 9 years old and only 20 pounds. Don't let my age fool you - I am a spry girl with lots of energy and spunk! I am new to a foster home but so far I am loving it. I love to explore every nook and cranny in the house and get the occasional pet by my people. I recently discovered they give back scratches and Oh. My. GOODNESS are those to die for! I do the best happy dance when I get back scratches! I am also learning about pottying outside and I'm doing really well on a schedule. I am a confident girl that isn't afraid to tell other dogs to keep out of my space. Because of this, I'd do best in a forever home without another dog or with a human that can help remind me to use my manners and act like a lady. I really love to explore outside and I'd love a fenced in yard to explore, but it's not needed. I LOVE to go on walks and see the sights, smell the smells, and hear all the sounds. I am a curious girl. I recently met a Chinchilla and I really wanted to play with him. Foster mom wasn't sure if it was mean play or nice play, but she thinks to be on the safe side my furever home shouldn't have any cats. I think I just don't realize that I'm 20 pounds and they aren't! I'd sure love a furever home with at least one person that will want to go on adventures with me - be it around the yard, a walk, or the Grand Canyon! Can my next adventure be with you? ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Azusa

    Breed: Shiba Inu
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shiba Inu (medium coat). Please contact Masako (saveshibas@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Special Needs Shiba Puppy Azusa 梓 (named after the "catalpa tree") is a young, sweet and beautiful sesame Shiba Inu. She gets along with all people. She is 9 months old, and weighs 17.4 lbs. Azusa is crate-trained, house-trained and knows basic commands. She came to our rescue after coming with her sibling at a SoCal pet store. While both girls seem to have patella issues, Azusa has a Grade 4 luxating patella (both sides) and it is severe and will require surgical care for her patellas at this time. The care needed to train her and her sibling, along with the possible post surgical care for Azusa were too much for one owner to take on, so we are looking to separate these two girls and find separate loving homes for both. They are being surrendered because the surrendering owner's home has changed their policy and is no longer dog friendly. Azusa is good with other dogs, and we would like for her to go to a home, familiar with this breed, that will adore this pretty little gal. Azusa, like most Shibas should never be off-leash. We prefer she goes to a home without young children (no children under 10 years of age) and a home familiar with this breed. She is a sweetheart of a gal. Since she has had limited socialization, we hope to find a home that will be patient with her as she recuperates from her surgery and learns how to walk properly on a leash. Since she was born with weak patellas, there is a possibility that she will suffer from arthritis in her later years. To keep her healthy, we encourage that her adoptive home keep her weight maintained, and that she is exercised often to help the muscles stay strong. She will also need to be on a high quality diet, and given supplements so that she isn't slowed down by arthritis pain. The Shiba-Inu is a primitive breed, and a living national monument in their native Japan. They are also known to be escape artists and door-bolters. Adopters who have previously owned or are accustomed to this breed will be considered. If interested in adopting Azusa, please complete our online application and we'll be in touch! http://www.savingshibasinc.org/adopt As a result of her medical expenses, her adoption fee is $500.00 **All Saving Shibas Inc dogs must be adopted by families willing to have their pets be a part of their family and must be allowed inside—especially at night. No dog is allowed to be put on a “tie-out” or chain outside and should be walked on a leash when not in a fenced yard. **All Saving Shibas Inc dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations prior to adoption. **Available pets maybe visited via appointment with foster.

    Breed: Shiba Inu
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shiba Inu (medium coat). Please contact Masako (saveshibas@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Sweet senior Shiba Sweet “Seita” is safe. Seita ("Say - Tah") written 誠太 means 'Sincerity', formerly known as Shiba 'A1570936' from the Orange County shelter is safe and a love! This sweet boy came to us in terrible shape and needed a few tests performed to get him feeling better. What we know: He was a stray from the Anaheim area. He's approximately 9-11 years old. He is a red Shiba and appears to be purebred. His skin issue is pretty bad, but with frequent baths, we hope to have things in control and he will be feeling much better. We anticipate he will have to remain on a grain free and poultry free diet, but he is doing great so far. He is a bit anxious in the car and seems to do ok in a crate. He is quiet in the home, and does some quiet whimpers when he's anxious. Very sweet and takes treats gently from your hand. For an older guy, he is very active and enjoys going for walks. He was recently neutered and will also have a large mass removed from his right side. He is current on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. Seita appears to be good with calm dogs; unknown how he is with cats or children. The Shiba-Inu is a primitive breed, and a living national monument in their native Japan. They are not very affectionate dogs, but are extremely loyal to their family/owner. Similar to the Japanese Akita because of their appearance and fierce loyalty, Shiba-Inus are a great breed to adopt because they are small-sized dogs that are smart and loyal. They are also known to be escape artists and door-bolters. Adopters who have previously owned or are accustomed to this breed will be considered. If interested in adopting him, please complete an application. Applications: http://www.savingshibasinc.org/adopt Adoption Fee: $150.00 **All Saving Shibas Inc dogs must be adopted by families willing to have their pets be a part of their family and must be allowed inside—especially at night.
