Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard) (long coat). Adoption Fee: $200. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 4/3/2018 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release/can not care for Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Partially blind and deaf. Roo's eyes never developed completely. We are not sure why his hearing is impaired. It is probably genetic. Weight: 60-70 lb Height: 25 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? We are seeking a home with an experienced dog owner and someone who is home more than they're away. You must have experience and success working with a special needs dog. What is my personality like? Roo does not let his blindness/deafness stop him! He still loves to play, go on walks and show affection to humans. Roo gets along great with other dogs, and walks well on a leash. Roo does like to mouth at your hands but only because he gets excited. He will need someone that understands dogs like Roo that have physical limitations when it comes to poor eye sight and hearing. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly. Other tips and tidbits: On Saturday, May 19th, Anne Raduns will be running the Canine Biathlon to raise awareness for dogs like Roo that need something special. All funds raised will benefit Luna's Legacy Fund. If you want to support Roo, please do so via the fundraising link: https://www.youcaring.com/carolinapoodlerescue-1160276?utm_campaign=buttonshare&utm_medium=url&utm_source=copy&utm_content=cf_cp_01 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

Jasper does have GI distress and will need to be on sensitive stomach dog food. Weight: 72lb Height: 17 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 As the newsletter featured adoptable, Jasper's adoption fee is discounted by 10%. He will also come with 6 months of both heart worm preventative and flea and tick preventative. Fence needed? yes What kind of home would be best for me? We are seeking a home with an experienced dog owner and someone who is home more than they're away. Jasper is full of energy and needs an experienced owner who will help him live an active lifestyle. What is my personality like? Jasper was released to us because his owner could not handle his behavior. This boy is full of energy that he needs to work out! He will really need to go to a home with owners that are experienced with standard poodles. Jasper is a great dog and just needs an outlet for all of his energy. He is crate trained. He does bark at people he does not know. So far Jasper has gotten along great with dogs of his size here at the farm. Due to his high prey drive he would do best in a home without any cats. Once he is acclimated to you he is a total sweetheart and wants nothing more than to be shown affection. This boy has so much potential and just needs special owners to help him become the dog he has the potential to be. How do I act when I first meet new people? He was rescued by a partner organization and transferred to Carolina Poodle Rescue Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms - Pacolet, SC Special Needs? None Weight: 50 lb Height: Estimated unknown Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Boomer needs an experienced home that will help house train him. He is a very good boy with polite manners, he just needs to learn the ropes of living inside. Boomer does not really play with toys, though he could learn to in time - he has just never had the opportunity. What is my personality like? Boomer is an absolutely lovely boy. He was raised in a barn and IS NOT housebroken, but he is otherwise a perfect gentleman. Boomer is clean in his crate, he is doing well with the small dogs in his temporary foster home, and is indifferent to cats. He does well on a leash and enjoys short walks. Boomer has not been tested with children. Boomer has a gentle and loving personality. He prefers to be near his people and leans against you to be held. He does not seem to know his size and would really like to be a lap dog. Boomer has an incredibly calm demeanor given his upbringing. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly. Boomer is happy to meet anyone and greets them by leaning into them for a pet. Other tips and tidbits: Boomer has a stiff knee / frozen join in his back rear leg. The leg also appears to be slightly shorter than the others, perhaps from years of not using it as much. This does not slow him down, but he doesn't put much pressure on it. Boomer enjoys walks, but given his leg really needs to be limited to shorter walks. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. Some behavioral issues per previous owner - needs training and guidance, prefer an only dog home Weight: Estimated 40 lbs Height: Estimated 22 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $499 Fence needed? Yes, I am full of energy and need plenty of room to bounce around. What kind of home would be best for me? I am not great with kids, so I would do best in an adult only home with an owner that is very experienced with the standard poodle breed and behavioral issues. And I need a home where I'm the only dog. I am fine with cats. I would greatly benefit from extra training and someone to have a lot of patients with me while I learn to trust again. I would love to have a hiking or running partner. What is my personality like? You can just call me Mr.Personality. I prance around this place like I own it! Confidence is key. What led me to the farm is my previous owners could no longer deal with some of my behavior issues. They sent me to a trainer and I did well with her. But once back in my home environment I took 2 steps back. I can be reactive towards new people and mainly dogs. I am extremely athletic, I could run until the cows come home! Give me a football and the outdoors and I am as happy as can be. Food and toys is what motivates me, I will nearly do anything for those. I know my basic commands but since I am so bouncy it can be hard to get me to concentrate. I really need a home where my wild spirit and energy is welcomed with opened arms. And remember - in poodle years I am still a puppy. I am a great boy I just need for someone who understands me to be patient and let me prove myself. How do I act when I first meet new people? I bark at new people and sometimes will lunge but, if you are patient with me I warm up quickly. Other tips and tidbits: I was released to CPR due to me being aggressive towards new people and other dogs in previous home. I've met so many people here that I am starting to understand there are a LOT of people in this world and I don't need to bark at them all. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard) (medium coat). THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING FOR ANOTHER RESCUE, for more information contact Special Needs Poodle Rescue at SNPR@att.net PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL IGGY PALACE OR YOU WILL NOT GET A RESPONSE! SNPR Jack is a 5 year old white neutered male Standard Poodle. He was surrendered with another Standard Poodle (who has since been adopted out) in December 2016 when his owner's health failed and she realized she had more dogs then she could properly care for. He hadn't seen a vet in several years, had severe ear infections, badly in need of a dental, and severe matting. He was also very under socialized, and has taken some work to acclimate to his foster home. His previous owner loved him, but she knew she was in over her head and needed help getting the number of dogs in her home down to a more manageable number. Now 6 weeks later Jack is a new dog! He's really come out of his shell, he's an active boy that LOVES to play play play, but is more dog centered them people centered. He warms up and can be a very sweet boy, but it takes him a little while to give people his full trust. But with other dogs he'll play all day long if he can! He's full of life! His only special need is that he needs a home that understands more timid dogs and can help him blossom to his full potential! He has come SOOO far in this time here, but we know he will only get better with the right forever home! Jack has been fully vetted, his ear issues have been cleared up (he had yeast infections in both ears, really bad in one ear, which the vet felt was likely secondary to food sensitivities, we changed him onto a white fish based food that he's done amazingly well on, and with regular cleaning and some ear meds for several weeks, his ears have cleared up nicely!), he's neutered, just had a full dental done, and was just groomed 01/19 (and will continue to be groomed every 4 - 6 week as long as he remains in rescue!). He is current on his vaccines, microchipped, knows his basic obedience commands, all he needs now is a home to call his own! REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADOPTION - Fenced yard with 6' or higher fence, Jack is timid and doesn't understand what's expected of him when he is taken out on leash, he NEEDS to have a fenced area available where he can run around and relieve himself. - No cats or small fuzzy animals, Jack is higher prey drive and does NOT do well with small animals he may see as prey, but does well with smaller dogs. - No small children, he's an active larger boy who doesn't know his size and could easily knock over or injure a small child without meaning to. - Must be willing and able to drive to Northern Utah for an in person meet and greet with any dogs in the home prior to adoption being finalized. NO EXCEPTIONS! We do not transport or ship our rescue dogs for anyone for any reason. - Must have another well socialized dog of similar size. Jack gets alot of confidence and security from having another dog his size around. - Must be willing to agree to never use pain or force based training methods (shock collars, prong collars, E-collars, etc). Jack is a sensitive boy and these force based training methods could easily cause him to shut down permanently. He need a home that knows or is willing to learn how to use positive reinforcement based methods to work WITH him to teach him what's expected of him. If you are interested in giving Jack a forever home, please e-mail us at SNPR@att.net for an adoption application. Home visits and reference checks are required prior to scheduling a meet and greet with the dog. An in person meet and greet with all dogs currently in the home is required prior to finalizing the adoption to insure all dogs in the home are compatible. Jack's adoption fee is $500 to help offset some of the expenses of getting him ready for his forever home.
