ALL OF MY PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE BELOW! 03/15/2018 - UPDATE - Bonsoir. Voici Paris! Comment ca va? Paris here, just practicing my French, asking how things are going. I hope everyone is well; I am. My fabulous foster dad says I am still doing great. I am an older gal but I don't act my age. I do have a cherry eye, and you may have noticed that in my pics. The doctor says it is better for me not to have it removed. I do get eye drops, and I am perfectly behaved for that. The cherry eye doesn't bother me. Consider it part of my charm. I was overweight when Dad first took me to his home. Now I am at my ideal weight. Hooray for me - thanks, Dad. Life is really good for me as I wait for my home. I have FUN with Dad all the time. I follow him around making sure he is doing what he needs to do. When I think back to before I came here, I can't believe how fortunate I am now. I used to spend all day in a garage, no matter what the weather. So, life is GREAT. Dad and I play with my favorite toy as soon as he gets home. I roll it to him and he tosses it back. This can go on for a long time since I am so energetic. I love anything I do with Dad, and I love other people. The only downside is that I don't always get along well with other dogs. Dad says I need to be the only dog in my home. I do okay here but Dad needs to keep an eye on me so I am behaving myself. Who knows why I am like that, but I am. Dad says I am always curious about what is going on. In fact, at night the other two pups go up to our bedroom when they get tired. Not Paris. I wait for Dad. I mean what if something really exciting happened, and I was upstairs asleep? So, Dad and I head to bed together every night. If you are looking for a great and fun pal and don't have other pups, I am your jeune fille (girl). Please ask CSAC about Paris. Adieu et bonne nuit. Avec amour - Paris. 09/07/2017 - UPDATE - Bonjour! Je m'appelle Paris. I am an older gal who is energetic and full of life. My wonderful foster dad says I defy my age. When it is bedtime and the other two pups are ready to settle down for the night, I am game for some more fun. Dad says I am up for play whenever. I really do have the best foster dad. I love him so much, and I show him that all the time by following him all over the place. I just LOVE to be with him. Dad says I am like Velcro. I honestly think he loves that I adore him so much. He says I whine a bit when he is out of my sight. Oh, speaking of my sight, I have to get eye drops every day, but I am good about it. I am really great with all people. I live with two other pups, and the one pup and I get along well together. The oldest pup and I sometimes have little issues over food or attention. We both want Dad's attention at the same time, so Dad has to be extra careful that we behave ourselves when we are together. Perhaps I would be better as the only dog so I can get all the attention all the time. Anyway, I am so eager to meet my family and show them what a sweet and loving girl I am. I am hoping that someday very soon I will be with my family. Merci beaucoup. Avec amour -Paris MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Paris. My owners no longer had time for me so they asked CSAC to help find me a new home. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Fosters that work with the CSAC. They giving me a great temporary home and finding out all about me. Visit me again soon for an update. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ALL OF MY PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE BELOW! 02/28/2018 - UPDATE - Hello friends! My name is Myra, and I am likely half Cocker Spaniel and half Cavalier King Charles Spaniel -an adorable combination, if I do say so myself. I have spent about the last five months in a foster home learning to love and trust again, after my family decided they could no longer take care of me. I am doing very well with my new foster family - including the 11 year-old girl that lives here, and the other dog. I have even been around a cat on one occasion, and she didn't bother me at all. I just ignored her. When I first arrived, I was scared sometimes - I didn't like to be touched in certain places on my body and sometimes, I would growl and show my teeth. But now that I know I can trust people again, I am one happy little pup! I love to go for walks and play fetch. I have lots of toys, and they are very special to me. I sleep with my family every night curled up in a ball and don't get up until they do - I know they appreciate that. I am very snuggly and soft. I get lots of attention on walks due to my good looks and friendly demeanor. I am ready to transition to a forever home and hope you will give me a chance to be your forever pup. Love - Myra. MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hola! My name is Myra, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet. My former owners felt their change in work did not leave them with the time I needed so when the shelter found me as a stray dog, they did not come and pick me up. I have lived with kids, I get along with other dogs but I am not sure about cats. I am almost house trained so I need a little help with that. I know basic commands like sit, stay and come, but I only know Spanish. I need taught my English commands. I love playing with toys. Can you help me? I was taken from my former owner because of neglect. I have spent my whole life outside in a home made kennel in lots of muck. I had fleas so bad that I tested as anemic, and my skin had an allergic reaction so I have lost some of my fur. My ears are infected. I have a cataract in one eye and my other eye has elavated pressure. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are trying to make me as healthy as possible. When I was spay, I had mammary tumors that were removed and the biopsy came back benign! Everyone says I am very loving and affectionate. I need a loving home where I can be house trained, taught how to do doggie things like walk on a leash, and visit an Eye Specialist. I may not regain my sight. My foster mom says I am healing nicely. I just wanted you to know that I am happy here, but I am still waiting patiently for my new family to come and meet me. Please ask CSAC more about me and hopefully we can meet soon. I cannot wait. Thanks so much. Kisses - Macy 06/29/2016 - UPDATE - I am here at my great foster home enjoying my new life. There are even cats here to hang with. They are just great. I am one of those pups who doesn't like other pups, but cats are just perfect for me. Life is good now. I love my four daily walks. I'm really happy to meet people when I am on my walks. Just love all those pets people give me. I do love my people and am not thrilled when they leave me alone. My foster grandmom keeps me company when Mom is at work. She is so wonderful to me. Guess we keep each other company! I love her. Other great things to let you know about is that I have never had an accident in the house. Never! The groomer says I am a very good girl and extra sweet. I love to sleep, too. I even sleep late because Mom likes to do that. I am quite obliging. ;) I can't wait to be someone's special girl. And remember, I love cats - and cheese - and my people! I know there is someone out there just waiting to meet me and take me home. Love and thanks - Macy 12/04/2015 - UPDATE - My skin is getting better. I only get one medicated bath a week now. They did find out I have a thyroid condition so I do get medicine for it. The Docs removed the tumor that was on my front shoulder. Unfortunately it was diagnosed as cancerous. The Doc thinks she removed it all! Like any cancer survivor, I will need monitored for any re-occurrences. I need a great foster or adopter who will keep me happy, healthy and active. Can you help? ALL OF MY PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE BELOW! 10/08/2017 - UPDATE - Hello out there! Barney here! I am in a great foster home right now, and I am happy here. I was so sad when my mommy died, then I wound up at a shelter. Finally, things are going my way. I do have arthritis problems in my hip and leg, but I get some medicine that helps. My foster dad says I can do the back steps at the house with some difficulty, but I am so eager to go in and out that I make it work. I am one tough cookie. Dad says I am doing really well overall. He says I actually gallop around the backyard in my happiness. One sort of interesting thing is that my foster sibling Lucky follows me everywhere. And I mean everywhere, inside and outside. Dad was watching it the other night and thinks that it may be because Lucky is part Corgi, and they have a herding instinct. Guess that means that this handsome guy (me) who is white and light buff may be mistaken for a sheep. Dad thinks watching us is a funny site. I think it is pretty funny that Lucky thinks I am a sheep. Lucky likes me a bunch so that is all that matters. Maybe Dad can dress me up as a sheep for Halloween! Dad says I am really being a good boy. I love getting my pets and hugs and as much attention as possible. I have been known to be cranky, but Dad knows my triggers and he does not upset me. He thinks that I will be a wonderful guy for some lucky family. I am so grateful to be here, but am so excited to think about meeting my new family and showing them as much love as I have in me. Please check in with CSAC and ask about Barney the only sheep in the rescue. Ha ha! I am eager to meet you. I will be the best boy and love you FOREVER. Hugs and kisses, Barney, the dog :) MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Barney, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. HOPE Dog ALL OF MY PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE BELOW! 10/02/2017 - UPDATE - Hi to all my CSAC followers. I am here at my foster home and have enjoyed the summer months and warm weather. I just love my walks in the warm weather. I think the bees that are around in summer are really cool little creatures. I must admit that I sometimes try to eat them! Makes Mom really nervous so she has to keep an eye out if she see the bees around me. Aren't I silly, but I know other pups do the same thing. We are a curious sort, aren't we? Life at my foster home continues to be great, and I am a happy boy. Please keep me in mind when you are looking for a handsome boy. Tell CSAC you want to meet Mr. Rusty. Yours - Rusty 07/26/2016 - UPDATE - Hi again, friends - I have a great friend from the kennel who said to tell you that I have been a great boy while I have been at the kennel. No trouble at all for this Rusty! I am a smart guy, too, because if I don't like something going on (like getting my feet groomed) I can "trade" my toys in for higher value things like treats. That has helped me with my guarding of my toys and things. Pretty smart guy, huh!?! So, as I make progress, you need to check in with my CSAC friends to find out all the things I am doing well. I just would LOVE SO MUCH to find my forever home. Please remember to ask about me. Thanks so much - Rusty 04/25/2016 - UPDATE - Hi to all my friends! I am writing a quick letter to tell you how well I am doing lately. I went to an adoption show and was a really good boy. Then I got to play ball with my friends and had so much fun. I just love to play ball and love all my balls and bones. Sometimes I love them a little bit too much and will be unhappy if someone comes near me. I guess I am afraid they will borrow my toys and forget to give it back. My best friend at the kennel is helping to work with me on that. She said I recently found out that I love squeaky toys, too. See, I am learning all the time. My friend says I am super smart. I know sit, give paw, and lay down. I love to go for walks and to be with my people. PLEASE give me a chance. I know the perfect home is waiting for me. I am still waiting and trying my best to be patient. I would love to meet you and show you what a great guy I am. Thanks so much for reading my letter. Love - Rusty Read updates on Rusty's progress while he was in the HOPE Program. Visit Rusty's Facebook page! 11/15/2014--UPDATE FROM RUSTY'S FOSTER MOM-- Rusty has settled down well in his foster home. He is very friendly with all the people he meets. He still does not get along with other dogs, but is okay seeing dogs on walks - he gets a treat whenever he sees another dog. He gets lonely if left alone and howls. He loves to play with his toys. While we are still careful not to grab toys from his mouth, he is now quite okay with us petting him while he plays. He definitely knows what he likes and does not like. He enjoys his walks, and he enjoys his naps a little more. Sometimes, he purrs slightly when we pet him. To sum it up, he is a sweet (couch) potato. If an adopter is willing to understand and work with him, he will be a wonderful addition to his new family. 2/4/14 - Update from Rusty's foster mom: Medically, Rusty has dry eye which requires daily Optimmune and artificial tears daily for life. He is very good about getting the medications in his eye. Regarding behavior, Rusty does not get along with other dogs and cats. He is however playful and likes squeaky toys and balls. Rusty goes to the door when he needs to go outside. He is not food aggressive, but he is toy possessive. He will give the toys up in exchange for other toys or treats. Rusty cannot go to a home with children - he snaps sometimes - it is easy for an adult to avoid aggravating him at those time by watching his body language, but not for kids. He is a sweetheart, but will not tolerate any teasing or rough handling. Rusty barks/whines when left alone, but is fine when he has company. He knows the commands for sit, stay, come, down, roll over, drop it, shake. While on walks, he pulls when he sees other dogs, but otherwise he is good. Sometimes he will go into another room, sit there alone for a while, and then starts howling. He has separation anxiety, and howls/barks continuously, if left alone. He tends to steal food (from trash, counters) and things like toilet paper, clothes - if he is unsupervised. We typically keep these out of his reach. If he does get hold of them, being non-confrontational works best in getting the things back from him (he gets very defensive, but will give the things up if we are gentle with him). He does not like his paws being touched. He loves walks, being brushed and just hanging with his humans. He is big for a cocker spaniel. The following is from Rusty's original intake information when he first came to rescue: Rusty is a 7 year old love bug waiting for his own special adopter. He loves to play outside and go on long walks. Rusty responds very well to several commands and is also crate trained. He is first in line for a hug and a kiss, and will sit with you all evening and watch TV. He is a good watchdog, but is friendly with dogs he meets on his walks and also with their owners. However, Rusty can be very possessive about his toys, his food, and water. Because of this, we feel strongly that he should not go to a home with small children, and he also should be the only pet in the household. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. ALL OF MY PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE BELOW! 9/25/2017 - UPDATE - Your tennis loving boy Cody here! I am still enjoying playing with my tennis balls and playing with any kind of toy. My foster mom says to tell my friends that I am a really sweet boy. Honestly, I am, but I need a family who has patience and can give me a lot of attention. When I am at a loss for something to do, I chew. Yes, I can be a mischievous character when I chew things. My family needs to keep things off the floor except for my toys which I am allowed to chew. I do need those strong toys so I don't swallow bits of toy. I love to wrestle, but I get so excited that I can get a little rough. I probably should be in a home without little kids since I am such an energetic, strong boy. I like children, and would be fine with older kids who understand me and pick up their stuff! I am a stuff magnet!!! Older kids would enjoy me, and I would love to play with them, and they could tire me out. I like to sort of be the top dog, but would enjoy being in a family with other pets that let me sort be in charge. I would love their company when the people in my family go out. So you know that I am full of energy, and a walk at night with a family member would be great. It will help settle me down for bedtime. I do need help calming down a little, but once I am asleep, I am asleep! Yup, I am a good sleeper and will not bother anyone during the night. I do love sleeping with my foster mom. I really am a charmer. Once I am awake in the morning I am ready to go. My foster mom thinks I would be really great at agility training. I LOVE activity, and that would be so good for me. PLEASE give me a chance, and ask CSAC to meet Cody. I promise you that I will be the love that you want. I so want to find my new family soon. I hope my new family is reading this right now, and I will be home soon. I am waiting!!!! Thanks so much for reading all about me. I was real honest, and even though I am not perfect (but who is?) I am worth the effort because I will ALWAYS love you. Hugs, kisses, and a tennis ball toss - Cody 08/13/2017 - UPDATE - Are you looking for a friend who always has a smile, is always in a good mood, and just loves to play? Then I am the dog for you! I am an eight year old Cockapoo with boundless energy and love for humans and dogs. I was in a foster home for a little bit, but I did have a little trouble settling in and began chewing things that I was not supposed to. But my foster Mom found that giving me lots of chew toys and balls helped greatly with this. I am completely house trained and have not had any accidents since coming to my foster home-and my family leaves me every day while they go to work and I am still able to hold it until they come home. My foster family called me their court jester because I am so funny and silly-I always make them laugh. I am looking for a forever home to call my own-I hope it can be you. Love, Cody. MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: My name is Cody, and I just became a new CSAC pup. I am so excited because I know the rescue will find me the best possible home. I am a really good boy, but my family took me to the shelter because they said they did not have time for two dogs. My pup sibling is still at my old home. I was really sad and confused about this, but now I know that I am in the best hands ever. I have some ear pain, so I know they will take care of me and get me feeling top notch. I used to have to be in the crate a lot at my old home, even though I am housetrained, and they used treats to get me in the crate. I now need to loose a few pounds. I know once my new people give me some great exercise those few pounds will fall away. I lived with three older children and was good with them. No cats in the house so I don't know if I like them or not. The shelter staff and my new CSAC friends say I am the cutest and friendliest boy. I am always excited about what is happening and curious about things. The staff say I act half my age. I do have some good energy and love to play ball. Tennis, that is! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE tennis balls. At the shelter, I had two in my kennel and the gals saw me play with them all by myself. I nudge the ball and after it rolls, I pounce! Love it. But it is way more fun when I play with people. I hope my new family likes tennis balls as much as I do. Another thing I enjoy is belly rubs. They are so wonderful. If I could make a list of what my new family would like it would be to play with tennis balls and give belly rubs. I really want to find my family soon so I can begin loving them and they can love me back. Once you meet me, you will see what a wonderful and affectionate boy I am. The girls said to remember to say how adorable and charming I am. Hugs and kisses - Cody the tennis star For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator.
