    Breed: Beagle-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Hound / Mixed (medium coat). Nitty, spayed female, 5-years-old, 40-lbs If you would like to give NITTY a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescuegmail or log onto abetterchancerescue To fill out online application Visit us at Yelp: .yelp/biz/a-better-chance-rescue-san-mateo Nitty is a loving mother with charming temperament. She’s friendly to people of all ages, gentle with children and good around other dogs & cats. She’s easy-going, enjoys human’s petting and leash walking always. She’s loving by nature, aimed to please and follows direction well. No one knows how much she’s suffered in her gloomy past, but she has never lost her trust in humans, still friendly and cuddly. Please watch her videos to learn more about this sweetie. Nitty’s rescue story: Nitty was a stray mother dog, she found shelter with her four puppies in an empty shed nearby a farm land. The stray family survived by the regularly feedings from a volunteer. One day the volunteer found her lying on the roadside whimpering, a large piece of her right hip muscle was missing; looks like someone did it to her intentionally. Nitty was rushed to the hospital for treatment; luckily she’s fully recovered after surgery. Now Nitty and her puppies are under loving care in their foster home. They’re all healthy and playful. We’re not sure of her age, the vet’s best guess is around 5 or 6-years-old. She was diagnosed to have minor cataract, but it won’t affect her normal living. She’s a happy, playful girl, loves to ride in the car and oftentimes would sing along to show how much she enjoyed the ride. Nitty has received a clean bill of health. She’s ready for a loving forever home that she so deserves! Reggie, neutered male, 5-months-old, 24-lbs If you would like to give REGGIE a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescuegmail or log onto abetterchancerescue To fill out online application Visit us at Yelp: .yelp/biz/a-better-chance-rescue-san-mateo Reggie is a handsome young boy, with pleasant personality. He’s loving by nature, able to adapt to new environment smoothly; very affectionate and cuddly toward familiar faces. Under the nursing and training of his foster families, Reggie made great stride; he learned to take walks on a leash, crate trained to sleep overnight, and to ride in the car quietly, etc. Even though Reggie is as active as a young puppy would be, he follows commands well, not a chewer or barker. He gets along well with children and other dogs and cats. Reggie and his siblings were found roaming in the neighborhood all by themselves, with no sight of their mother. Poor puppies’ small bodies were covered with lice & fleas; they barely survived on irregular kitchen scraps offered by kind residents in the neighborhood. However, the area they were in had strict regulations against stray dogs; besides, people sometimes took the law into their own hands and set poison for the strays. Fortunately this time the rescuer stepped in, she arranged foster homes for these puppies, and in the meantime sought adoption opportunities for them. She will be the best candidate to be a family companion. Please watch her videos to learn how much love this sweet girl would like to share with your family. A posting on Facebook by a hiker caught the attention of the rescuer. It’s about a stray family, mother with her two puppies, roaming at a ditch near the mountain trail. After seeing this post, the rescuer with a few volunteers, set out to look for the family on the very next day. After some searching, they saw Willa, the mother, stood by a ditch wagging her tail, as if to welcome the help from the rescue team. Since the two puppies still needed nursing, a foster family was arranged to take care of Willa and her puppies. Now Willa is doing well at her foster home, under structured training. He is easy-going, loves being around people and is aimed to please; he loves belly rubs. He is a smart puppy and learned everything quickly. He has already mastered some basic commands and is potty trained. He is very well behaved around people, young kids, and is good with dogs and cats, either in public place or indoor. He enjoys the companion of dogs in his foster home a lot. His favorite pastime is hanging out with dogs in the park and his daily walks. Elmer’s rescue story: Two months' old Elmer and his sibling were wandering on a busy street searching for food. A kind lady stopped her car and took a picture of the young puppies after feeding them; their photos were posted on line later on in plea for help. Unfortunately, after only a few days, Elmer and his brother were both hit by a car. Elmer’s brother was tragically killed in the accident; Elmer survived, but fell into a gully after being hit by the car. Knowing the danger faced by these young pups in the neighborhood, even though restrained by the tight situation to accommodate Elmer, the rescuer put Elmer under medical treatment and settled him in a foster home. From the car accident, Elmer's left side femur head suffered a minor crack; but fortunate for him, after only a short period of healing, X-ray shows the joint repaired successfully by itself. Now Elmer’s mobility is not at all affected; he can move freely and walk and run just like any normal dog. Please watch Elmer’s videos to learn how much joy this sweet young puppy can bring to your family if you’re willing to give him a second chance in life.
