If you are interested in adopting Beatrix please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers and we require a home check for each of our adoptable pets prior to them going to their new homes, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family further than 60 miles from Charlotte is responsible for finding a representative of a rescue local to them that is willing to perform the home check. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as the application is approved.***

Posted Breed: Alaskan Malamute (medium coat). ALASKA Breed: Alaskan Malamute / Adoption fee is $150 / Sex: Female / Age: Approximately 5 yrs old / Weight: Approximately 98.3 pounds Alaska is a very shy and sweet, beautiful malamute girl. When you first meet her she is a little cautious but once she is out of her kennel she will warm up to you. Going to play and get exercise in the rescue's park is her favorite thing to do and you really see her come out of her shell when she gets room to run. Alaska gets along well with other dogs and lived with a male malamute. She is very well behaved, quiet and chill while in her kennel. She has not been cat tested and did not live with a cat prior to living at our rescue. Alaska really wants a family of her own. Alaska did test positive for heart worms when she came to Pet Angels. Pet Angels is paying for the cost of her treatment. But it would be great for her to find a home, especially during her treatment, as it takes about 2 months to treat. Treatment requires only one trip to the vet and some down time to rest and remain calm. NORTHERN BREEDS: All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit to check for appropriate fencing and if needed, to offer tips on containment. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines, when you submit your application. Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky or malamute you will need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system (cost is approx $100) this is quite often needed to preventing digging, climbing or chewing through fences. A hot wire is typically the best route to start with for proper containment and peace of mind. Some of our dogs will require this fencing method, prior to adoption, due to knowing they have a history with escaping and can either jump or climb over your current fencing. For most yards installation of a hot wire is simple and can be done in under 2 hours. Northern breeds are beautiful dogs but can have challenging personalities. They can be demanding and very destructive by chewing or digging and if not exercised they may be hard to contain when their needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed on our home page. Pet Angels has a number of northern breeds available for adoption and you can see them all by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org. Alaska has had her age appropriate vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies (4 m & older), heart worm test (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance Important: Please do not use the "Adopt/Contact Me" buttons generated by the Adoptable pet websites, read details below: You can submit an Adoption Application by clicking our logo button below (if visible) or by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org to start the adoption process. Please review our website for information on questions you may have in regards to adoption. All of our pets at Pet Angels Rescue are listed on our site and can be accessed from our HOME PAGE. Posted Breed: Alaskan Malamute (medium coat). MAX Breed: Alaskan Malamute / Adoption fee is $150 / Sex: Male / Age: Approximately 6 yrs old / Weight: Approximately 71.6 pounds Max is our big handsome love bug and is very affectionate and sweet to all the volunteers. He will be a very loyal and loving companion and will lay in your lap and let you rub his belly for hours. Max was living with a female malamute when he first came to the rescue and got along well with her. However, he has shown guarding behaviors during meal times. He has not been in group housing with other dogs so we are unsure if he gets along with both males and females. He may do best in a home with a similar size female. Soft and cuddly, he would rather curl up beside you on the couch instead of doing something active. He doesn't like to be alone and will whine when he's by himself. Max enjoys going on walks and getting to play in the Pet Angels park. Max has been living in a large indoor/outdoor kennel with trips to the park for exercise. He has not attempted to jump our fence in the park however we require a secure yard and fence for our northern breeds. Max has not been cat tested but malamutes tend to have a prey drive. Overall, Max has been a well-behaved boy who wants nothing more than to snuggle with people and be loved on. Posted Breed: Alaskan Malamute (medium coat). All of our foster dogs are kept in individual homes. Go to our website Bayareasiberian.org to get the foster home contact if you do not see it in the bio. Charlie is a little shy at first meeting, but he warms up to you with just a little bit of patience and maybe a few treats do the trick. He h is a typical Alaskan Malamute. he needs to be useful and have a purpose that he shares with his master. He is full of energy, playful, fun and ready to go. He likes care rides, walks and play. He starts off on his walk pulling just a little, but then settles down. Charlie really does not want to be alone, he is a people dog, but because of his Sheppard background he wants to protect his owner and their property. He is respectful of your belongings. He sits and waits for his food bowl to be place on the ground before attacking it with gusto. He is still working on his basic commands like DOWN, STAY/WAIT so some basic obedience schooling would be a good and fun thing to do as he wants to please. Charlie also loves to be brushed and handled ...he just needs someone who can set the boundaries and hold him to it.. Children should be older teenagers. No children and no other dogs in the family. No small animals such as chickens, rabbits or cats please though, pretty please. Go to BAYAREASIBERIAN.org for contact information on the foster dog.

Posted Breed: Alaskan Malamute (long coat). Mally is about 8 years old, and was surrendered after a catastrophe involving a very small dog. For this reason, she cannot be adopted to anyone having a small dog (under 30 pounds), cat, or other small pet that she could get to. Malamutes and Huskies have a very high prey drive and if something runs from them, they want to chase and catch it. Mally is a very nice dog, she loves people and medium-large dogs. Walks great on a leash, is housebroken, loves to go for rides in the car. Great manners and affectionate, she just needs a responsible owner to keep her safe. All of our dogs are available for a $150 donation. This includes them being spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and fully vaccinated. To adopt a dog, we require an approved pre-application, as well as a securely fenced yard. This means an actual, physical, fence. "Invisible" fences are not acceptable, sorry. If you live in an apartment and do not have a yard, we are not able to adopt to you. Please contact us at: dogtownmutts@gmail.com for details. Please note: we typically do not do "out of the area" adoptions. This would be any location more than 60 miles away from the Reno/Carson City area.
