Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard) / Golden Retriever / Mixed (long coat). Our first step is an application which can be filled out atwww.cvrrescue.org p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; color: #454545} Luke and Murphy are awesome golden doodle brothers. Luke is 10 and Murphy is 9. They have been together since Murphy was a puppy so they are very bonded and will be adopted together. They are super sweet, very smart and love to cuddle and get belly rubs. Both are impeccably house trained and crate trained. They both know sit, shake, down and stay. They both love toys and love to play. Luke absolutely loves fetch. He goes around the house finding toys and tennis balls to bring to his foster mom so he can play. And he usually sleeps with a tennis ball so he’s ready to roll in the morning. Murphy is that slightly uncoordinated little brother that hasn’t grown into his feet yet and follows you everywhere:) His favorite thing is bananas and he likes to sneak one or two off the counter for a midnight snack when no one is looking. They are on a limited ingredient diet of duck and oatmeal since both have allergies to chicken, turkey, and lamb. Both have been great meeting a wide variety of dogs and friendly with everyone they meet. This dogs adoption fee is $300 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR. All animals are on flea and tick and parasite prevention for the duration in fostercare. We are an volunteer group, who process the applications so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone and email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process . We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the dog picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed. The adoption fees help cover a portion of the care provided to the animals. All dogs and cats are microchipped and all animals adopted out are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. **All of our animals have a lifetime commitment. If for any reason, the adoption does not work out, the cats and dogs are to come back to CVRR, which is a NO kill rescue.*** The foster family and the rescue volunteers will choose the new home based on the best fit for the dog/cat. Our first step is an application which can be filled out at www.cvrrescue.org

More About Goldendoodle Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

This is how it always goes. We saw a video of Shayla, mountain cur, in the shelter, terrified. A precious little girl, not knowing why she got dropped off, where she was or who these people were. Typically, these kinds of dogs (scared) don’t do well in shelters. To give her a fighting chance we took her in. The first week, she mostly hid in the back bedroom and would peek out every so often to see what new noise she had just heard. Even now, she still likes her own bed (probably because she didn’t have one) but is much more social now. Shayla, most likely, will not make a first good impression as she is still weary of new things and people. But we have been working with her and allow her to meet anyone new so it’s not quite so scary anymore. She does know some commands, is potty trained and we are working on staying “down” as she gets extremely excited when you come home. And just for fun, she’s learning to dance. Shayla does live with 6 other dogs and 4 cats. While she sort-of tries to nibble on the cats, she is not aggressive and they are all still alive. (She has been with us 4 months.) Update: Shayla has adjusted to foster care and seriously does great with the dogs and cats (and even foster puppy) in the home. She enjoys her inside cuddle time and understands her routine. She would love to have a routine in a forever home though. This girl is just gentle and sweet as can be. IS she your next forever friend? She thinks so! Shayla was timid in the shelter but is already doing SO much better in her foster home. She loves other dogs, ignores cats, and appreciates a good belly rub. She is quiet in the crate and her house training is coming along great. She is very gentle. This dogs adoption fee is $175 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR. Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Our first step is an application which can be filled out at www.cvrrescue.org *Update* Help us find the perfect forever family for our longest CVRR foster dog. He's been in our care since September of 2016. From his foster parents, "It’s hard to believe Mr Atticus Finch has been with us a year now. He has learned so much and we are so proud of him. Atty is a 3 (or 4) yr old Staffordshire Terrier and he is currently living in our home with 6 dogs and 4 cats. He is a neutered male weighing around 70lbs who has been great with all his foster friends. He has been to the forest farmers market and there was introduced to children for the first time since coming to live with us, and he was fantastic. They hugged him, and sat on the ground with him and he just loved every second of it. He happily greeted anyone who approached him, and he was especially interested when a treat was offered. Atty loves to give hugs and wet willy kisses. Atticus is kennel trained and spends time in his kennel only when we both have to leave home. He is potty trained and he LOVES going outside. On a nice day he almost refuses to come inside (we have a fenced in yard and he loves to lay in the sun.) Toys are a huge motivator for Atticus, and we have discovered that they are necessary for him when he meets anyone new (human or non-human). It has turned out to be a great way to harness his attention so he doesn’t jump up on people, or run right up to a new dog and scare them. He’s just a big boy. Atticus is leash trained, but for the first few minutes he gets a little overly excited and can be hard to handle due to his size. We have been working on this, and that’s where the toy has been a great tool that has been successful in calming him down. In addition to having 4 dogs of our own and 3 foster dogs we also dog sit. Atticus has been great with all the dogs we have watched over the past year that he has been in our care. He just needs someone willing to handle big love!" - Atticus came to our care in September 2016. He was a stray that we pulled from the shelter. In foster care he is a great big teddy bear who loves attention and belly rubs. He makes doggie friends quickly and has done fine with kitties except they don’t always appreciate his sloppy kisses. He is very muscular and when on leash is very excited to meet people. He needs a firm hand and some training for this but seems eager to please and should learn quickly. He has greatly astonished his foster parents with how gentle he is towards others. Fill out an application and come see this sweet and gentle bear, Atticus, because he wants to see you! The adoption fee for this dog is $175.00 which helps to cover a portion of the care provided, including: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, age appropriate vaccinations: DHLP/P, Bordetella, Rabies, deworming, and any medical care received while with CVRR. Both have wonderful manners, are house trained, and don’t chew on anything other than their toys. They've made themselves at home in foster care and transitioned without any problems. August loves a good game of fetch and she just got her teeth cleaned so she’s ready to give kisses. Rizzie loves a good belly rub and being outside keeping an eye on the squirrels and sun bathing. They're the perfect companions for a walk in the neighborhood or curling up on the couch to watch tv. Rizzie and August are 10 year old girls that were sadly surrendered to the shelter by their mom. Due to her own health she could no longer care for her girls and wants to find them another loving home. Rizzie is the brindled boxer hound mix and August is the tan beagle mix.

Posted Breed: Treeing Walker Coonhound / Mixed (short coat). Our first step is an application which can be filled out at www.cvrrescue.org Sammy is a gentle, affectionate, laid back goofball of a hound. He was in our care last year for around 6 months last year where he stole heart hearts of everyone he met. We are very surprised that after being adopted he exhibited pushy behavior that made the adopters uncomfortable with keeping him around small children He is in the same foster home that retained him last year and has a resident two year old that has coexisted without issue. FRom the description of the in incident, Sammy has forgotten his position in the household so we will buckle down encouraging him remember who is the human and who is the dog ;) EDIT more than a month back in foster care and he is still problem free. Here's a short video of Sammy https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yYlDXCG60Js Sammy also has a bit of wanderlust. Anyone who knows how hounds are, knows that once they get a whiff of anything that smells fun they're off on the trail! Howard is no exception, so he will need an owner who is willing to work with him and take precautions to help prevent him from escaping. This dogs doption fee is $175 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR. Posted Breed: Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Our first step is an application which can be filled out atwww.cvrrescue.org Saban has lived his life in a very loving home. Unfortunately he and the other resident dog have been getting into squabbles and his owners feel like one of the two dogs need to be re-homed for safety of all. They have tried to do everything they can to control their behavior to prevent any fighting and are very sad to have to make this choice. The other dog has issues that would make his rehoming more complicated. "Saban is a very loving dog, loves to be petted constantly, he is great on dog walks and runs. He loves going on car rides and camping. He lives in house with an 8 year old child, so he is kid friendly. We call him "The Major" because he has never met a stranger. It is my belief Saban would be a great fit in another environment. When we are home, he loves to stay outside with the ability to safely entertain himself. Only thing, he is scared to death to be left outside at night." We arent sure if Saban's issues are strictly with his companion or with other dogs in general. We recommend setting up a meet and greet if an adopter has other dogs and is considering Saban. Probably the safest bet is simply to choose a home with no other dogs. This dogs adoption fee is $175 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR.
